Trying to Forget the Crushing Defeats since 2009

Think back to what you were doing in early 2009 (difficult, I know). What were you doing?

Well, I was moping. School was hard, life was hard, my work at the newspaper was hard- I needed an outlet. So I signed up for a class, learned about WordPress, and started to write down what I liked and didn’t like, what inspired me and what made me laugh.

Fast forward to now, and things are looking much better- I developed a blog that (some) people read, I’m suddenly an expert in Web Design (far from it, but I do still love answering questions), and my experience complaining to the internet (specifically using WP software) got me a job.

As I write this, my desk is littered with green Post-It notes- each with an idea for a post on them. I’ve saved up some ideas, and over the coming weeks I’m ready to set them loose. I’m also starting another class project this year, a blog devoted only to objective journalism. That blog, .Comm Ave News, just went public at www.bentimmins.com/news.
