Big Ideas, Little Victories: About the Blog
Once upon a time, there was an idea. And by idea, I mean final assignment for a Computer Science class.
The Little Victories, né “Little Victories”, was born in January of 2009 after Ben Timmins, now a Junior at Boston University, decided that the best way to get an A in his Computer Science: Web Design class was to write about himself. Four months later, he got an A on the project, and decided to keep writing.
About what, nobody knows: the original little victories spanned “The Holy Trinity” (Politics, Technology, and Cars) and beyond- from pepper spray to Andy Milonakis, it covered it all.
And that’s exactly what The Little Victories will do: cover it all. Some upcoming features of the blog:
- Opinion Thursdays- A weekly “big post,” the backbone of the blog. Think of it as a column… (click here to find out why that last sentence was a bit dubious)
- (New?) Music Tuesdays- a tribute both to iTunes and to some interesting artists/albums/concepts from the music world.
- Shameless Saturdays- a tribute (more like a shameless plug) to the items I love so much I’d hawk them for free (and do).
As part of another class project, for Introduction to Newswriting and Reporting, Ben hosts .Comm Ave News, a news site available at www.bentimmins.com/news.
Do you have questions, comments, concerns? Ben can be contacted by sending an email to ben@bentimmins.com.
